InnoFrugal (previously The Nordic Frugal Innovation Society), founded in December 2013, is the world’s first non-profit to focus exclusively on Frugal Innovation.

EU Funded FRANCIS Project

InnoFrugal is the Communication & Dissemination Manager for the FRANCIS – Frugal innovation by Citizens for Citizens project that receives funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme. 

FRANCIS’ consortium includes seven partners from six European countries. Fraunhofer from Germany, VTT from Finland will provide scientific support. The Finnish non-profit organization InnoFrugal, The Behavioural Insights Team from the United Kingdom, the French tech startup Agorize and two industrial enterprises, HELIOZ from Austria and Turkey’s BSH Home Appliances, are involved in the project.

Advance the ability of frugal innovation practices, examples, innovations, etc. to be used in the public domain by citizens, governments, and the public at large via AI for Impact, Circular economy, Sharing economy, Open innovation, Inclusive business, Social entrepreneurship, DIY/Maker Movement, Impact Investing and Co-creation processes.

We focus our efforts to reduce inequality via sustainable economic growth.
